Study time: 4 hours
Prerequisites: While you do not need to be an expert with the PI System this is definitely not a lab for someone who has never worked with AF. Some experience will help follow along with the content. If you have attended our “Building PI System Assets and Analytics with AF” class and attempted a few projects yourself this is the perfect jumping off point.
This course is self-paced for your convenience. Thus, there are no live components to the course, nor are there required login hours. Please use the video lectures for instruction along with the course exercises to gain experience working with the key concepts presented.
Have you embarked on a new Digital Twin project and you feel lost in the weeds? This course will provide you best practices and hands-on exercises on how to get started with Asset Framework (AF) and Asset Analytics. The course will cover setting the scope and modelling accordingly, dealing with asset variations and tag naming conventions, integrating external data in AF, building well-configured AF analyses and propagating changes between separate environments (test-to-production or central-to-local systems). You will explore examples of well-configured and ill-configured AF databases, and get ready-to-use insight. The message of this course? Your data is as valuable as the context you build around it!
This course is intended for someone that has started an AF project but is starting to feel a bit lost. If you have ever caught yourself wondering if there is a better, more sustainable way of completing a task consider yourself the prime candidate for this course. Additionally, if you find that you are having performance issues with your AF or Analytics servers this lab will give you a new set of skills for troubleshooting.
