OSIsoft is excited to announce the release of PI Server 2016 Beta. This Beta release includes PI Data Archive 2016 Beta and PI Asset Framework (PI AF) 2016 Beta with Asset Analytics.
The PI Data Archive 2016 Beta release provides improved archive management, including the ability to flag an archive when it becomes corrupt, and the ability to reprocess an archive online.
PI AF 2016 Beta implements a new, more scalable notification infrastructure, which also expands the functionality of event frames to include annotations, acknowledgements and severity. The AF SDK now allows the user to programmatically retrieve values at multiple timestamps for multiple PI Points with a single call. Also via the AF SDK, it is now possible to use a single programmatic call to replace data in a time range for any given PI Point (see PI Data Archive 2016 Beta Release Notes for limitations). New functions have been added to the analytics library along with the ability to configure multiple start triggers when generating event frames. Statistical Quality Control (SQC) is now supported natively via analytics. Other major enhancements include the ability to define attributes with specific characteristics, such as limits, and associate those with other attributes and improved scalability and performance in the Analysis Management plug-in to PI System Explorer. Many bugs were corrected and they are listed in the release notes.
As with all pre-release software, please review the limitations detailed in the accompanying documentation before proceeding too far. Please conduct your evaluation in a test environment, not a production environment.
Stay tuned! We're gearing up with great presentations for the annual Users Conference in San Francisco.
