Transform Your World with Data - OSIsoft

ABSTRACT:   People with data will transform their world. With assets,   machines and systems becoming smarter and delivering   more data than ever, there are new opportunities to advance your understanding of operations. Understanding that empowers   you to drive process, asset health, energy and   quality improvements across the organization. This session focuses on the   business impact of data, and how an   infrastructure approach, with the right capabilities, can help   everyone from engineers to executives across the   organization make impactful decisions in real-time.

SPEAKER: David Buck,   Regional Sales Manager

    09:30 – 10:10 AM

Transform   Data into Information   - OSIsoft

ABSTRACT: Today, the PI System manages just under 1 billion data feeds   across the 17,000 sites worldwide. With such volumes of data spread   across the organization, the ultimate question   is, how can an individual or group of individuals tap into and use everything that   is available to them. Data on its own can be   difficult to understand, combine, and share unless it has context that   enables anyone in the organization to quickly comprehend, interpret and act on information. This session focuses on the best practices and required   capabilities for sharing, standardizing   and consistently enriching data from business and operations systems so that   data is self-service and turned into   actionable information at every level in the organization.

SPEAKER:   James Kafer, Field Service Engineer

    10:10 - 10:50 AM

Transform Information into Intelligence   - OSIsoft

ABSTRACT:   More and more companies are turning to big data engines to   gain new insights into sensor based data, assets,   processes and business systems for novel operational insights. The reality is   that there is a hybrid world of local data and enterprise big data analytics   and visualization required to support operations: local data for immediate and localized systems and   operations, and big data for longer term and cross enterprise analysis to   uncover correlations, trends, and patterns that may not be obvious at the   time. This session explores best practices for data analytics and   visualization, the latest visualization and analytics tools in the PI System, and new opportunities to leverage your PI Data for Big Data initiatives within the   organization.

    SPEAKER: Dan Lopez, Systems   Engineer

Dan Lopez is a member of OSIsoft’s Systems Engineering   team, a group that does more highly tailored, in-depth, or advanced PI System   installations.  He’s been involved with the OSIsoft and Esri Integration   since its very beginning, and has worked on and advised projects that have   monitored data sources like cities, seafaring vessels, pickup trucks, and   even people.

Improving   Process Efficiency with the PI System - AOC

ABSTRACT:   AOC is a major global supplier of resins, gel   coats, colorants and synergistic systems for composites and cast polymers.   AOC in particular makes several classes of resin products which all contain   an exothermic reaction at various points in the batch.  Across all of   those products, and across different manufacturing sites, product consistency   is paramount to serving AOC’s customers.  Additionally, aligning product   consistency with best practices for exotherm control ensures maximum throughput   and minimum use of additional energy in the reaction process.

With the recent PI System   upgrade, AOC had the tools available to identify and address these process   inefficiencies. A corporate PI Asset Framework structure was configured to   take advantage of PI Event Frames in order to compare the exothermic   reactions occurring across all of the reaction vessels in the company. Early   returns on this analysis include a 10% reduction in cycle time and 5%   reduction in natural gas usage for one of the largest volume products that   the company makes.

SPEAKER: Ryan Lenihan,   Corporate Optimization Engineer

Ryan Lenihan is the   Corporate Optimization Engineer for AOC and has been with the company for   three years. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University   of Florida. He has been the PI System administrator at AOC for the past year,   and he recently guided the corporation through the upgrade of their six PI   Systems.

Manufacturing   – Operational Data Fusion: Adding Value with the PI Asset Framework  - Evergreen Packaging

ABSTRACT: Traditionally   operational data and manufacturing data are considered as separate entities.   They operate on different timescales, capture different data, have different   consumers, and are housed in different databases. This is certainly true in   the Pulp and Paper industry. Combining this dissimilar data can add context.   We share how Evergreen is turning that context to knowledge to action to   value - all within the PI Asset Framework.

SPEAKER: Stuart Watson, Mill Decision Support Systems Architect

Stuart Watson is an IT professional with over   20 years' experience. He received a Doctoral degree in Chemistry from the   University of Oxford, England and performed three years of post-doctoral   research at UCLA. Dr. Watson has filled several roles in the IT department   during his five years with Evergreen Packaging and is currently the Mill   Decision Support Systems Architect, focusing on enhancing the business value   from the OSIsoft PI System.

Cooking with   the PI System – Training with Asset Framework

DESCRIPTION:   Have you ever wondered, How do I do Overall Equipment Efficiency   with the PI System? How other PI System users are doing Condition-based   Maintenance? Track power usage in your critical facilities? Downtime   analysis? Now you can see how it's done. In this session, we focus on the   recently released PI Asset Based Cookbook. The Cookbook is a collection of   “recipes” for projects that our customers have proven valuable in their   environment. Each recipe is organized into ingredients (what PI System   features you need), Steps (how to accomplish the task), and Serving   Suggestions (how do I display my results).
