There are several features that I like to consider hidden gems when you're watching any of the OSIsoft Small Private Online Courses (or in fact any videos on our OSIsoftLearning - YouTube).

Did you know that you can:

  1. Watch the videos in high definition! YouTube automatically adjusts the quality of your video stream based on the speed of your Internet connection (bandwidth). Therefore, you may not be viewing the video as clearly as possible. To ensure you're watching in high definition, go to the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the video player and select 720p. More details here - How can I watch the Learning YouTube Videos in HD?

  2. View videos with captions and even change the captions to different languages! We upload complete transcripts to many of our videos which can then be used to generate captions in other languages. If a video has captions, you can turn them on by clicking the captions icon at the bottom of the video. If English isn't your preferred language, you may want to try auto-translated captions. This uses Google Translate to translate the captions so it may not be perfect, but hopefully you find this as beneficial of a feature as I do!

  3. Change the speed that the video plays at! This is particularly helpful if you're using the captions to follow the content than the video audio. Slow down the speed of the video so you have more time to read through the captions. You can change this setting by going to the gear icon and selecting Speed.
