Ayrton Nogueira and I have developed an AF Example Kit to detect leakage in water distribution systems. With this kit you will be able to, through the monitor of pressure reduction valves and flow meters, better understand the behaviour of the District Metered Areas(DMA) and better identify the location of a possible leakage in minimum time and quantify the amount of water lost during the leakage and, therefore, calculate costs. Ultimately the example kit will benchmark each DMA using the Infrastructure Leakage Index.
We have prepared PI Vision displays, excel reports using PI Datalink to vizualize the overall DMA leakage status. Moreover, we also used PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS to create operations views showing each DMA situation linked to the DMA location based on real use cases . Also, we provided the PI Vision Database ".mdf" and "ldf" files with a simpler version of the displays used in the demo videos. All the information to add these displays to your currently PI Vision Database can be found in the user guide.
There are two videos of introduction to the example kit:
Water Leakage Example Kit_part1 - Intro and AF Structure
Water Leakage Example Kit_part2 - Client tools solutions
Note: The development of this kit aimed to demonstrate the capabilities of PI AF using real data samples, however, to use it in a real operational environment requires futher studies and implementation changes.
Feel free to contact me firstname.lastname@example.org, if you run into any questions when using this kit.
