Objective: The goal of this exercise is to demonstrate connectivity to the PI System using a third party Java client.

The important point here is not that it's DBVisualizer in specific, but that it's something more functional than Get(EA)Snap and has a UI. We also know that the PI JDBC Driver will work with it, and OSIsoft Tech Support is capable of providing a small amount of guidance with it, which is not necessarily true of any arbitrary Java client that may be used. DBVisualizer also forces you to do more work than GetSnap in order to connect, so it's good practice for your Java Client.

Problem Statement:

1. Install DBVisualizer on a machine with the PI JDBC Driver installed

2. Follow Using DBVisualizer with the PI JDBC endpoints to gain a connection to either a PI Data Archive or AF Server

3. Execute a query of your choice and confirm that the results are shown in the output tab
