I need to load a video file (.avi format) in PI ProcessBook and sinchronize the video with values of pi tags. Any clue?
Loading a video file (of any format, not just .avi) would require the use of an embedded ActiveX control (such as the Windows media Player control, for example) in your display, as well as the requisite VBA scripting to make the control load and play your video. That's the easy part. Not sure what you mean by synchronising the video with PI tag values. What is the relationship between the contents of the video and the data in your PI tags?
Thanks for answer John.
I searched for some options but I wasn't successful trying to load the video using WMPlayer inside ProcessBook (is there some requisite?). The video content is a record about a Kiln, so using a datetimepicker, I intend to load a video and as it runs, the process variables (tags) will be updating at the same display.
Sounds like Jose Sanchez Colunga has a good solution for you. It's honestly been years since I actually did something like this in ProcessBook.
Thank you for sharing your questions in PI Square!
This KB article describes how to use image animation in ProcessBook and it could maybe help you getting it to work.
Hey Jose, I found this KB interesting but unfortunately the video that I have to load has different configuration from the necessary (the compression is different from RLE and has sound).
About WMPlayer, I obtain an error saying that doesnt exist the .dll in system32 folder (but it does).
Thanks for answers guys
