    Should the IO Rate tags for primary and backup interfaces be unique?


      If the IO Rate tags for a pair of interfaces are set to the same tag you end up with a saw tooth trend. (pic below)

      Interface A writes its average IO, then interface B (backup) writes a zero.


      I'd assume that if both interfaces are writing to the same tag (IO Rate), the tuning parameter for locking timeout along with staggering scan classes would be critical in avoiding locking issues.

      If the buffer subsystem is busy could this potentially cause a write lock?

      Is the recommendation to have separate IO Rate tags?
