Creating an attribute reference with text extraction

Hi all,

Is it possible to create an attribute reference from the results of a text manipulation function?

I want to reference a variable number of sub-element's attributes. This can be done manually or with PI Builder, but it would be convenient to do so in PSE.

For example - an ideal solution would replace the "1" in the following attribute reference with the ID of the primary attribute's title, and execute it as such.

'.\Thermocouple1|Temperature';

I'm wondering if I can force PSE to interpret a string, like the one built in "ThermoCouple1", as an attribute reference. If so, it could automatically reference another attribute with the same ID.

In this case, I used Right() to pull the ID in the sub-attribute TC ID.

Thanks,

Bjorn
