Can anyone please let me know in detail what are the pre-requisites, and what is the procedure to get accredited as a PI System Application Developer
My understanding is that you need to be an OSIsoft Partner. You then start the process in the Partner Portal.
There is a combination of lessons, study and a live evaluation session.
From the Partner Portal site:
The PI System Application Developer accreditation recognizes partners that have a high level of knowledge building applications on top of the PI System. Partners are required to have a baseline knowledge on both the AF SDK and the PI Web API in order to pass the accreditation.
In order to complete this accreditation, the follow requirements must be met:
You can complete all of the accreditation requirements through the Learning website.
Thanks, Steve and Roger, I have completed the pre-requisites(Business Training, Developing app in AFSDK, Programming in Web API courses) but when I try to register I get the following error(maybe on halt), Can you please help.
I think it means what it says - this particular certification is not open at the moment. Maybe someone from OSIsoft Learning can comment on why that is.
The developer courses should be available from the Learning Dept, however, the partner certification program may be in limbo. I really don't know for sure. I was a member of the technical team that performed the partner code reviews and granted the certification. That team was disbanded in summer of 2019 and I left OSIsoft a year ago. Shortly before I left, the primary on setting up partner certifications was moved to another department. One of my last things to report before I left was it seemed unclear who would perform the code reviews or whether code reviews would even continue. My advice is that you should ask your Partners contact at OSIsoft.
I don't know the answer to this question, but I've reached out internally to bring attention to this post. Someone should be responding soon!
