I am not sure if this is possible but was wondering if there is any way i can extract data from a website and put that into a PI server. example can be the BOM data..
sorry for the earlier truncated post
It looks like your post got cut off at the end there, if you give us some more details on what web data you want to bring into PI we can give you some more detailed answers, but some general comments about bringing data from the internet into PI are:
2) PI Connector for UFL: The PI Connector for UFL can be configured as a REST endpoint to send data to the PI system. KB01375 - Quickstart Series PI Connector for UFL as a REST Endpoint provides a good introduction to this.
3) Scripting + PI Connector for UFL/PI Interface for UFL: An approach I have used in the past is to use powershell (though it could be your language of choice) to download data from the web to a text file and then use the PI Interface or PI Connector for UFL to import it into PI. This isn't as neat as the above approaches, though it is quite flexible in the types of data you can access in this way.
thanks Michael.. looks like option 1 or 2 will be a better choice.
I've written a blog post about that:
Creating an AF Elements Tree using web page content
You need to know how to create ASP.NET MVC web application using PI AF SDK.
Let me know if this helps you!
thanks Marcos... have very little knowledge of that. but just went through your post and the example shown is what i was looking for..
The PI Web API can also do this. There is a very useful tutorial in the Learn PI space that walks you through building an app that uses Google Streetview and saves geospatial data from the web onto your PI System.
Programming in PI Web API
Hope this helps!
