It’s October 31st and I have almost completed my first month with MAVERICK Technologies. My first full week was spent in Columbia, Illinois for on-boarding. The home office space is very nice. I felt proud just walking in. I had the privilege of meeting about half of my team and even had lunch with them. I must add that I felt like the old man in the group, but these guys and gals treated me like one of them. It brought back memories of some of my first meetings and the way I felt listening to the senior managers telling their stories. I guess you don’t think about one day being in that position. Needless to say, I have already started to blend in with the team. My new boss is a very intelligent man with a hectic schedule. He too, made me feel welcome and an important part of the team. A good friend of mine that I worked with for years told me that, in time, I would realize that this career change would be the best thing that could have happened. I am already starting to believe that. I have spent most of the last two weeks reading and training. The product lines for MAVERICK and Rockwell Automation contain things that I am accustom to and new things to learn. I think I have done more reading this month than I have the previous three months. I have also started on my OSIsoft Accreditation. Things are looking up. Thanks for going on this journey with me.
