Is it possible to apply user restriction to PI ProcessBook folder in Coresight.
Nope, that's not possible in the current version of Coresight. PI Coresight Application Pool account reads all displays in the import folders it has access to, and all ProcessBook displays are available to all Coresight users.
We have an enhancement request to add more options in display security area:
There's no ETA for it though.
In the current release of Coresight it's not possible to grant/remove access to certain displays. Coresight displays are private or public and ProcessBook displays are always public.
I would strongly believe that OSIsoft plans to implement some kind of security options for the displays in the future, if not; they really should put it on a list, we get this question for every new Coresight installation we do.
Well would you look at that; Lubos Mlcoch just confirmed the enchantment request
But what you can do is to limit the access to the actual PI data.
First you have to make sure that the clients get's impersonated.
If the Coresight server is on a different machine this means you have to use Kerberos or basic authentication.
Then just remove the read access for "everyone" and add the access using AD groups to the different tag lists.
