How do we set timeout in the connection String for PI JDBC?
You can set either a connection timeout or a query timeout for PI JDBC. These settings will be propagated to the PI OLEDB Provider or PI OLEDB Enterprise on the PI SQL DAS machine for a connection to PI and AF server respectively.
For example, your connection string can be:
jdbc:pisql://pisqldasserver/Data Source=piserver; Integrated Security=SSPI; Command Timeout=60; Connect Timeout = 10;
Thank you Daphne!!
I wonder why this is not documented in "PI JDBC 2016 - Administrator Guide".
This is because of the Architecture and to avoid redundancy. PI JDBC connects against PI SQL Data Access Server which is using PI OLEDB (Classic) / PI OLEDB Enterprise to connect against PI. Connection string parameters are documented in the corresponding documentation.
