Is there any tool from OSI that allows the user to develop a interface for an OS different from Windows?
Has anyone already done it?
The PI Developer Technologies are listed here:
For Linux OS development, PI JDBC and PI Web API may be used. Most of these tools are geared towards data retrieval, although it is possible to perform writes. We don't have any specific public framework for creating interfaces currently though.
Could you describe your use case for creating a Ping-like interface that runs on Linux? I'm wondering if there are other approaches here to accomplish the goals.
Thank you. I apologize for the time taken by me to reply you.
I have to monitor a long list of assets from external companies connected to my data aquisition Server (Linux Red Hat).
For security reasons, I may ping those assets from this aquisition server.
Because of the large ammount of new IPs monthly created, I'd like to use a tool to simply assign new PIping tags to request data from this aquisition server, as if it was done with a Windows Interface.
Once again, thanks.
There is PI API on Linux if you are looking to develop PI Ping interface.
