I am Using FT Historian 4.0 and capture data From Allen Breadley PLC 5, i need linear scaling in PI SMT, how to setting in PI, help please
Please refrain from posting duplicate threads on PI Square. We typically have pretty active users, so threads are usually responded to fairly quickly.
In response to your question, scaling is typically carried out by the interface. In this case, it seems you are using FactoryTalk Live Data. I would consult the user guide for this interface to see if this is possible, and if so, how to configure it. As an example, you can see this page to understand how scaling is configured for the PI Interface for OPC DA.
If scaling is not possible by the interface, then you can configure calculated points based on the raw PLC data. For example, you could calculate the scaling using a PE equation.
In the future, I would post similar questions in "All Things PI", as this is not related to PI Dev Club, or to .NET.
If I understood correctly you are storing your data on the FactoryTalk Historian sent by a PLC. But I still have some questions:
Thanks for respond my email,
I would like answer your questions,
1. Osi soft product that installed on my device is using PI AF Server
2. I’m not using PI Data Archive on my system,
3. - I wanna capture point from PLC 5 data integer directly with FTLD point source (Rockwell Software Package), the data that I receive is about 0 – 10.000 , and I wanna scale to 0 – 100 , is it possible to do that ?
Software that use on my system is :
1. FT Historian Server (Package Rockwell Software ) consist of : PI AF Server, PI SMT, SQL Server 2008 R2,
