Many thanks Patrice. I received the same response from TechSupport. That also advised on trying the classic 'switch it off and switch in on' approach using PISRVSTOP and PISRVSTART :-) This did not actually stop the messages being produced. I have stopped the PIRecalculator service and the messages have stopped being produced. This has to be a tempoary solution though.

Could it be that someone has launched a manual relaculation?
pirecalc can be run using a command line too over a time period to force recalculation of a list of tags.
Also do you see any other pirecalc connections in PI SMT --> PI Network Manager Statistics?
This SMT add in shows all existing connexctions to the PI System. Looking there should tell you if another pirecalc instance is running.
