PI Web API 2015 R3** (1.6.0) is released! The install kit and documentation are now available for download at the Technical Support Download Center. Among the new features and bug fixes in this release, the following are some notable changes:
- Performance Improvements: In this release, we have refactored JSON serialization and deserialization to improve performance in the core services. The Search Crawler’s performance for highly-referenced AF database is also improved.
- PI Web API Admin Utility: Installation configuration has been moved from the installer to a separate utility to allow configuration changes such as the PI Web API URL, SSL certificate, and service accounts running the PI Web API and Indexed Search services, etc.
- Batch CTP*: You can now execute multiple HTTP requests in a single request to PI Web API. Sub-requests can either be independent of each other or dependent on previous sub-requests.
- Channel CTP*: Channels, using the WebSocket protocol, allow users to receive continuous updates for Streams or Stream Sets.
*CTP (Community Technology Preview): These services are provided for your evaluation. If you would like to see this as a fully supported extension to PI Web API, we encourage you to test and provide feedback at firstname.lastname@example.org.
