Is PI Cloud Connect status exposed to performance counters?
Just wanted to add an update to this thread, PI Cloud Connect now has some Performance Counters exposed! Check out the documentation here.
Not at the moment... some status information is displayed in the Portal but no counter are exposed yet. What counter would you be interested in and would you envision to historize/store the value of these counters over time?
We would like to be able to store the status of whether or not a publication is publishing or not publishing, or sending/not sending. and also whether a subscription is receiving/not receiving.
It is great to hear what you are interested in viewing, and we have been considering these items to be added into the product itself. In the meantime, you can use PI Notifications to alert when a specific tag is not receiving data. You can also monitor the PI Buffer subsystem on the node which is running PI Cloud Connect if you are on the subscriber side.
The publisher side is more difficult, but there are some new counters for the Update Manager to look for data events being published by a specific consumer. The consumer is connection specific, so you could only look at a specific location in time, rather than keep track over a period of time.
