I don't know what do you mean by "sample PI archives from specific PI interfaces". Do you want to download one of our products?
“Do you want to download one of our products?” No.
What I mean is a PI archive with OPC AE data already stored in it. I want this archive to be easily accessible, which means it’s on the internet ready for downloading.
The parallel in the relational database world is the famous Microsoft SQL Server sample database called “Northwind.” SQL Server has backups (.bak files) instead of archives.
As far as I know, we don’t provide any sample of PI archives. This is what we have already provided on trainings, workshops and hands-on -labs:
- XML files in order to generate sample AFDatabases using PI System Explorer
- Spreadsheets in order to generate PI Points through PI Builder or PI Tag Configurator.
I am not sure if this would help you. Please let us know!

I'd recommend that you look at KB01163 - PI System in a Test Environment
Specifically the "PI Interfaces" section. it gives you 5 options to generate test data.
Its worth to mention that the Random interface ( option 1) has an option to backfill data holes after a test PI Server was stopped for a long time.
I attached a file I use often to create tags with the random generator interface.
Hope this helps,
