I'm trying to locate a windows installer for installing the AF SDK. Can someone point me in the right direction? We are using install shield to create an installer for our product that uses the AF SDK for pi server access.
The AF SDK is not available as a .MSI. There is an install option to only install the AF SDK with the AFClient install kit. Please also be aware that you need a license to distribute the AF SDK.
Hi Steve and Mike,
Please allow me to turn the spot slightly. We don't allow the redistribution of our SDK's but AF Client setup kit is publicly available since we've opened up on Developer Technologies.
You could have a look if the silent install features suit your packaging needs: https://livelibrary.osisoft.com/LiveLibrary/content/en/server-v5/GUID-8C104DF2-5336-424E-899A-AE4F293EBA2A
Thank you for this addition Roger. I've fixed the broken link.
The license that Steve is talking about is mentioned here. It is called the PSA license.
PI Developers Club FAQ
The licensed PI System provided with PI Developers Club membership merely allows you to develop application. It should not be used as a production PI System. For a developed application to be deployed legally to a production environment the end-user will need a runtime license. Typically it means they will need the PI System Access (PSA) license. (Note: it supersedes the former DAP and DA packages, which used to cover a subset of these products.) Please contact your Account Manager for more information on this topic.
Side-note: If this is an in-company product & installer package, than you would not distribute outside of the company and the use and distribution would be covered by the license. For large enterprises with licenses at group level this could apply to all companies in the group.
