How to link processbook graphics to tag id instead of tag name?
By default, ProcessBook already stores the tag id instead of the tag name when you save your display.
Are you experiencing something else?
(There is a procbook.ini setting where you can force ProcessBook to use tag names instead. This might be useful if you open ProcessBook displays from another PI Server, and don't want the values to be mixed up with any of the tags stored in *your* PI Server)
Thanks for the great and accurate answer, Asle!
Just to add to this, ProcessBook originally DID use tagname to map tags, but this was changed a while back to be done via ID, I believe in one of the 2.x versions of ProcessBook. Hamad, can you check your version of ProcessBook? Anything v3.x will map with tag ID, so if you are using an older version the only option would be to upgrade your clients.
If you are already on v3.x, could you describe the behavior your seeing further? As Asle mentioned, we'd want to check the procbook.ini file to make sure someone had not modified it to override the default settings
