Just wondering what PIAnalysisProcessor.exe does and why it would be consuming 5 GB of memory on our PI Server?
Also would it cause any issues to stop this task since it's slowing down the Server significantly.
The PIAnalyticsProcessor.exe is part of PI Notifications (PINS). Stopping it won't impact the PI Data Archive Server but it obviously would impact PINS.
The reason it uses a fair amount of memory is because of the caching and sign up to PI updates. However, I would be concerned that 5GB is being used, I took a look at some of our servers and we are mostly below 1GB. I would also strong recommend that AF and the analytic services are installed on separate servers to the Archive Server personally I like to separate the concerns; VM's make this easier.
Thanks for the information Michael, we do have a high number of PINS, I will have a bit more of a look in this area and see if I can solve the issue.
At this stage we aren't in a production phase so this is the reason for having both on the same server for now.
