Does anyone know what this message means?
Based on the version of AboutPI-SDK you have installed, I would expect your version of PI Buffer Subsystem to be v184.108.40.206
Unfortunately, we have a known issue in this version of pibufss that can result in these "Error reading from buffer queue, status: [-16506] Wait for queue read returned a WAIT_FAILED status" messages
The reason was a bug in autotuning which was a new feature of the 4.3.x buffering
The issue was resolved in a hotfix for pibufss, documented in WI 140776
140776 - PIbufss sometimes generates queue errors when there are a small number of events flowing into the queue
You can upgrade to PI SDK 2014 R2 to obtain the fixed release of pibufss
If an upgrade is not possible, we can work around it by disabling autotuning from the Buffer Manager
Hello - could you provide us some additional background on when this occurred?
What application were you using (AboutPI-SDK, Collective Manager, SMT, etc.), and what action were you performing (trying to connect to a server, trying to initialize a collective member, etc.)?
I am using PI-SDK Utility application and request errors from PI message log for last day. It shows me a lot of such errors.
Error 0x8004049a translates Connection to the server lost.
I've done some research as well for the other error [-16506] Wait for queue read returned a WAIT_FAILED status but there's too few information to say why you are seeing this error and what can be done to fix it. It can be a configuration issue, a bug or related to the way an application attempts connection. You can try if opening the Buffering Manager (PI-SDKUtility -> Buffering -> Buffering Manager) identifies and / or fixes a configuration issue. If not, the next step might be to update to the latest version. Probably the best option would be to reach out to Technical Support asking for a remote session.
