Expose Network Manager statistics

Are there plans that some of the other subsystems information can be accessed via the PISDK?

What I mean is, programmatically access a PI system, get a Subsystem item (NetworkManager) and then loop through a connections object (PISDK Connections) and get the details of each connection (so bytes sent/recieved for that connection).  All this information gets logged to the PI Message Log and I have written something to try and track connections & bytes sent/received but it can get messy and I don't like the idea of parsing the message log.

Why I would like to do this is to build a very nice display that dynamically adds/removes connection objects and orders them depending on the statistics as an aid to track the "heavy hitters" on a PI system, especially when there are problems with the server.

I am aware of perfmon, IT monitor etc but I want something a bit more than looking at numbers in PI tags.

Any help, advice, pointers....?
