Just wanted to know difference between Notifications and Event Frames . How do they differ from each other and what are the benefits using each application ?
If you didn't see the recent webinar on Notifications 2016, I recommend having a look at that to start with.
In a nutshell, PI Notifications is about recording events and delivering a notification of that event (triggered from a specific rule or set of rules) via a delivery channel such as email. Refer to the product overview (and documentation for more detail). Event Frames record events, and are also triggered from a rule using various methods (AF Analysis, EFGEN interface etc). The current released version of PI Notifications is a separate product that sits on top of AF, whereas Event Frames are built into AF. The recent webinar talks about the next version of PI Notifications which utilises Event Frames and will no longer be a separate product, but an integrated feature of AF.
