I want to configure auto backup for my AF server but the SQL server is in different machine. Is it possible to do that? This is my first time to configure AF backup with SQL server in different machine.
SQL Server Agent is in SQL Server. If your SQL Server is standard or enterprise, then it automatically takes AF backup.
Open SQL Management Studio > SQL Server Agent > Job history (results)
PI Live Library contains following information.
PI AF backup considerations
It depends on the version.
When the SQL Server Agent is available (all editions of SQL Server except Express), PI AF will automatically install and schedule a nightly SQL Server backup.
SQL Express does not include a job scheduler, so you need to use a Windows utility to schedule the backup. You can use the following command to run the backup:
sqlcmd -S <SQLINSTANCE> -d PIFD -Q "EXEC dbo.usp_backup @outpath = N'', @allwaysfullbackup = 1;" -E
Thank you for your response. The SQL Server Agent is in AF server or SQL server?
Can you tell me the auto backup folder located?
Could you see it from here?
