I want to customize my displays by adding a header and a footer.
Either it is possible to modify the timebar (existing footer) or I have to create my own footer.
How to do that?
Where are stored the coresight html pages, in order to modify them?
Customizing the style of Coresight, while possible, is not a supported modification.
It can be quite easy to make changes to the various html files that would break the functionality of the site or cause issue when you attempt to upgrade to a future version of PI Coresight.
You can take a look at the following blog post to see what would be involved in such a change.
How to customize the appearance of PI Coresight 2016
If you want to modify the time bar, here is an example of how to add in a Playback pane that may be of use:
Creating Playback Pane using PI Coresight Extensibility CTP
Thank you Jerome, I've already seen these articles.
The Playback tool does not help me because I want to change the design of the Coresight timebar in order to insert a navigation bar through the displays, with dynamic links (the links would depend on the current display). Do you know some existing examples in the commnity?
I haven't seem any such attempts yet.
If you want dynamic URLs, in AF 2016, there is a new attribute data type to create URLs, called URI builder. So, you can use the information available from a particular element to build up that url. Say, for example, you have attributes regarding longitude/latitude data, then you could use that information to build an url to a third party mapping service.
Could this satisfy your use case?
You can seem some documentation regarding that data type here below:
As I saw no example of using URI builder on PI Square, I created the following short blog post: URI Builder data reference in AF 2016
Thank you Jerome,
I found another way to do what I want.
As you said, it's better not to modify the timebar because of the possible issue when upgrading PI Coresight version.
