I have now set my timezone to be GMT +1 many times while visiting the vCampus site (and forums), but the timezone keeps getting reset to GMT -8 Pacific Time. Now I understand that the server might be located in this timezone, but I'm not!
Can you look into this?
Steve it does the same for me, I set it to GMT week or so ago and now it is back to GMT-8.

Our WebDev team are currently looking into this. Hopefully, they'll have a fix for us soon. I'm hit by this issue as well, so I want the fix as much as everyone else

I have another site related question as well - regarding the "About user..." page (where one also sees the user's timezone). It's about the 'My activity' field, and sometimes also the post counter.
The 'My activity' field now hasn't updated itself even though it's appr. 24 hours since I posted 2-3 posts in the forums.
And the post counter also doesn't seem to update the post count immediately after a new post has been created. Don't know how long you'll have to wait, it get's there eventually. It's a minor bug, but none the less - a bug! :)
That's weird, I can set my TZ ok.. and it does stick.
I've seen the post count and activity field update almost instantly, but I do know that some broswer cache can mix the things up. so please check that your browser is not caching the vCampus site while you are checking this.
However, the resseting thing that goes on with the site should disappear on the next upgrade, which should be done in 2010. So pleae be patient.
This has been confirmed by Telligent as a bug in the version of Community Server that we are running. As Cristobal mentioned, we will be upgrading the site to the latest release early in 2010.

(And yes, the TZ hasn't been reset the last time I set it - 2 days ago I think - so maybe something's already been done about that. Dunno..)
In our testing, we had some users who never experienced the issue. In other cases, users would go several weeks and then the TZ would revert. We were not able to tie the change to any specific setting or event on the site.
This problem should be fixed in the upgraded vCampus Please let us know otherwise.
Well, I'm not able to test it at the moment - since any changes to any settings just gives the above error (as I mentioned in my other post)
OK, I updated my timezone settings last week - and the settings are kept. So I believe this issue is fixed!

I've been looking at my time zone info for a few days, and admittedly tried to "screw it up" by editing my profile and doing different things With no success: my time zone stays set to GMT-5. I did manually set your time zone back to GMT+1 in our control panel so please tell me if it goes away again in your next visits. Cheers!
