In PI Coreisight 2016, what you can do is inserting a text and linking it to another display. It also enables you to search for an existing display and will automatically populate its hyperlink. If you want to make it look like a button, you can upload a button icon and lay it behind the text hyperlink.
I hope you found this helpful.

an alternative way if you want to be able to click on another type of symbol (square, ellipse, image etc) and link to another display (or create an ad-hoc display by using URL extensions), is that you can place a text symbol over the other symbol and set the text color to "None" (invisible).
When placing the cursor over the invisible text symbol a hand will be shown, and when clicking on it, you will be directed to another display in accordance with the URL.
I would prefer to have the option of adding a hyperlink possible for all symbols. Maybe something for a future version of PI Coresight?
We have started to utilize UserVoice to collect feedback for enhancement requests for PI Coresight since 2016. You may also access it from any PI Coresight page => the question mark on the upper right corner => give feedback.
For this particular request, there is an existing item. You may access it via the hyperlink attached below and vote for it.
Thanks Marc and Victor!
