Changes are underway to fully automate the windows patching process at our company. Part of this process will be to immediately reboot servers once a patch has been applied.
Up until now we have manually rebooted our PI Server when patching was required so we could ensure an orderly shutdown. I'm interested to hear ideas on the best way to ensure the PI data archive server is shutdown appropriately when a shutdown is triggered.
One idea a colleague came up with is to simply call the pisrvstop.bat from the shutdown scripts of the Local Group Policy.
Is this the best approach? Other ideas?
