Have you heard about the OSIsoft Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs)? These convenient learning opportunities allow you to work at your own pace and on your own time, from the comfort of your own desk!!!

Monday October 24th marks the start of our next facilitated session for the Configuring a Simple PI System online course. For the following 3 weeks, you can expand your PI System knowledge with guidance and assistance from an OSIsoft facilitator. You can even submit a final project to get feedback and earn a certificate of completion for the course! To hear more about the perks of registering for a facilitated session, check out the Online Course FAQ.

In the Configuring a Simple PI System online course, Field Service Engineer Rajesh shows you the basic skills necessary to manage a simple PI System according to OSIsoft best practices. Specifically, you will learn how to install and configure a PI Interface, create PI points (tags), and configure buffering. Additionally, this class covers common management tasks while working with some of the utilities provided with the PI System, such as PI System Management Tools and PI Interface Configuration Utility.

This course will provide you with a working knowledge of the tasks required to build and maintain your PI System, focusing primarily on point and system configuration. During this self-paced course, you will also gain exposure on data flow through a simple PI System, connection mechanisms to PI Data Archive, and interface startup process - all of which would assist in troubleshooting.

This course comes with a configuration in the OSIsoft Virtual Learning Environment, consisting of ready-to-go virtual machines hosted in Microsoft Azure with a sandbox PI System waiting for you!
