I am a new user. I was attempting to create the Event Frame Template per video instruction. I don't have access to New Template (it's grayed out) and the New Template hyperlink is not available.
By default, users usually have read-only access. How your PI System security has been set up with ultimately determine how to obtain the required access. The simplified version is that user accounts are either given or restricted access either at the user level, or by the group level. For example, your PI System Admin may have set up multiple user accounts (one for each user) with each user having their own access and security settings. Alternatively (and hopefully what you have) a Group has been set up with each group having different access. For example, there may be a "Read Only / Basic User" group, and a "Read/Write/Edit - Power User" group, and a "Read/Write/Edit/Delete - Admin" group. The various users become members of a group and inherit the rights and access of that group. This makes it easier to manage as you only need to manage the settings of the groups, and not the setting of every individual user.
To get the access you require, you need "Read/Write/Edit" permissions for your user account.
Hope this helps!
Hi Joe, This is Abdulrahman from OSIsoft
I suspect that you need to get AF Security authentication to the AF Databases and Templates. Contacting your PI System Administrator is most probably the wise action in your case. I hope this will help to resolve your issue. Have a nice day !
I want to thank all the respondents. The information you provided helped us track down and resolve the access configuration issue we had. Problem solved. Thanks for the help.
