How does a user name get passed to a PI Point annotation?

Hi everyone,

I've inherited a 3dr party install of PI Manual logger and I'm struggling to see how the user access has been setup. Everything has been fine until we wanted to add more users to allow data input. When we have looked at the configuration there are no individual users, only some trusts (linked to PC names/id's) and 3 generic user accounts. That's no big issue (even though we asked for individual PI user accounts for each team member as we don't have Active Directory on our PI server as its a bit "old"), but we can't figure out how the individual user names (J,. Bloggs, P. Smith, etc) are included in the annotations every time a new data input is added via Manual Logger.

Does anyone know how the user names could be linked into the annotation via Manual logger? The users access their PC's with their network logins which are personal not generic, and login to PI ML is via one of the 3 generic logins (PI_user1, PI_user2, etc for example). I'm a bit stumped.

Any help much appreciated!
