Hello All, Is there a way to use macro in PI Datalink excel sheet to indicate a color change once a PI Current Values exceed a max and minimum values
You actually don't need to use a macro for this. In Excel, we can configure Conditional Formatting that will highlight the cell when there is a value outside of your max and minimum values. I've provided an example below:
Here I'm configuring the cell to be red if the value in it is less than 0 (my minimum) and green if the value is greater than 10.
You can have as many rules for conditional formatting as you'd like as well as apply the rules to as many cells as you like:
To get to the conditional formatting menu, you will see it in the Home Ribber>Conditional Formatting.
Please let me know if this works for you.
Nice idea @Jesse.
What if there is a Flat Values ie the PI Values doesn't update with time?.
Sorry for the delay. The conditional formatting will work for Flat Values as well as PI Values. Conditional formatting only cares about the values in the cell at a given time and not whether they are constantly updating or static.
In short, conditional formatting will work in this case.
Should this suffice for constant values: =$S$G-$S$G ?
Conditional formatting will be valid for the above formula as well! As you can tell, it is a very powerful excel function.
