I there a way to used AF generated data in PIDatalink in a similar manner as using PI tags to retrieve data?
By AF generated data, are you referring to AF attributes? For example, you can use a PI Tag or an AF attribute as your Data Item in a PI DataLink function. Keep in mind when working with AF attributes you will need to include the full AF path in the data item not just the name or specify the path in the Root Path option to use just the name in the Data Item.
Here's an example showing searching for and using AF attributes in PI DataLink as well: OSIsoft: Search for PI Tags and PI AF Attributes in PI DataLink (PI DL 2013 Excel Add-in) - YouTube
Thank you Camille, we were did exactly what you and the You tube presentation suggested. There seems to be some other problem as we keep getting "ATTRIBUTE NOT FOUND". We have opened a case with your Support Canter to get further assistance.
Thanks for the update, Andrew! Let us know what you find out.
Just some follow-up. Our installation PI-AF required a patch. Once this was done by or IT people, Pi-Datalink work as we expected it to.
