let's say I have vendor OPC tuneller installed on PI interface node
and I want to link interface in ICU to OPC servers from vendor OPC tuneller, how can I do that?
I'd appreciate if you give me detail instruction.
If your OPC Tuneller is configured correclty you should be able to connect to your OPC Server as it was locally.
In PI-ICU -> OPCInt -> OPC Server Node Name -> type: Localhost
Press the "List Available Servers" button and choose your OPC Server instance.
There are other steps in a new OPC interface configuration that you must check also.
Please follow this PI Interface for OPC series video OSIsoft: Configure a New PI Interface for OPC DA Instance
Most of the time, a local OPC tunnel instance should look (to PI Interface Configuration Utility) like a local OPC server. As long as the OPCEnum service is running, you should be able to find the OPC tunnel instance in PI OPC Client. In ICU -> OPCInt, the List Available Servers should usually find the tunnel instance on the localhost (if it's not working, try using PI OPC Client to get the exact tunnel instance name and entering it manually into ICU).
We also recommend that the interface service be dependent on the tunnel service. That way, on startup of the interface, the interface won't try to collect data until the tunnel is up and running.
