Analysis Equation: Can element attributes set up as "Strings" be used in Search and Retrieval function SecSinceChange?
Receiving the following error when evaluating, "Method not found: 'Boolean OSIsoft..............
I notice from your screenshot that your AF server version is 18.104.22.16859 (2016 R2), while your client version is 22.214.171.12438 (2014 R2). The method which is not being found, 'OSIsoft.AF.Asset.AFAttribute.IsSupportedDataMethod' was only introduced in client version 2.8. So you should be able to eliminate the error by upgrading your client to at least version 2.8. Note that I don't think this error prevents the analysis from actually calculating on the Analysis server, you just won't be able to evaluate the analysis in older (<= 2.7.5) clients.
There is an existing (internal) known issue which documents this, where analysis data references cannot be evaluated on <= 2.7.5 clients. Also, the Analysis Service release notes and user guide do state that "PI Analysis Service requires the corresponding version of PI AF Client... For best performance and highest level of compatibility, PI AF Server, PI AF Client and PI Analysis Service should be the same version".
It's working fine for me. Here is my setup:
CDM158 is linked to the PI Point with the same name. The attribute is configured as a string. My analysis is:
I've tested this on the following versions:
Which versions are you running? What's the data reference of your AF Attribute?
Thanks for the quick response.
Running Pi System Explorer 2014 R2. My data reference is a pi point.
What's the version of the Analysis Service and PI System Explorer on the node the Analysis Service is running?
Can you quickly configure the same setup as me and see if it works? You should have the PI Point CDM158, it's one of the default points.
Same error code when setup was like yours.
Not for sure if this is what your looking for? If not, advise where to go find info and I'll retrieve.
Thanks for the info, I will make the request to upgrade my client version and update this thread. Note, it might be a while for my reply back, software request tend to take a long time.
I ended up removing the analysis equation due to repeated error code that would either stall or force quit pi system explorer.
