Has anyone found a way to pass dynamic time frames to analyses in PI AF?
Hi Jarrod, as long as I know you can't acces an EF start time and end time from an external analysis, but Event Frames templates are for doing just what you want to do.
Please download the following course from OSIsoft (https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Downloads/File/1112714a-c9f4-4a07-8059-f378f51c4b8a ) and go to chapter 5 of the student workbook. In order to calculate the total production during EF, yuo should use a PI Point DataRefrence with By Time: Not supported and By Time Range: Total. Remember to set Source units for this kind of calculation.
If you really need start time and end time for use in complex analysis, here is a discussion about it:
Is it possible to use an event frame time in AF attribute?
And here you will find a blog post about how to do it using a custom data reference:
Build an Event Frame Data Reference in 60 seconds.
Do you mean start timea and end time coming from attributes? What time sintax are you using? Is this for Event Frames? An example would help...
Good Morning Nicola,
Yes - start and end times from external sources (e.g. attributes).
We are using a Downtime System that bolts onto PI (RtDuet). The Downtime System generates Event Frames within PI AF. I wish to take the Start & End Time from these Event Frames and pass them to an AF Analysis to work out quantities during this period (e.g. total tonnage through a plant area during this time)..
