I am not able to connect PI processbook with AF server.
The drop down for database is blank.
I have already connected with my AF databse from File --> PI Systems.
I am using PI Processbook 2014 version:18.104.22.168
Is any other user having the same problem? Is this problem only happening on one computer?
Can you please review the permissions that the user with which you are opening ProcessBook has in AF?:
Thank you for sharing your questions in PI Square!
Can you please try the following in your computer where you are opening PI ProcessBook?:
1. Close the PI ProcessBook.
2. Delete the AFDatasets.dll.config file from the %APPDATA%\PISystem\PI-ProcessBook\ folder.
3. Restart the PI ProcessBook
Please let me know if this works.
Thank you and best regards,
Thank you Jose for your quick reply.
I cannot find the AFDatasets.dll.config file under the path mentioned by you.
There is only one folder named "PISDKUtility.exe_StrongName_pbtbbvjk3lzydlevd3wq2qlmqdkw1b05" when I browse to "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\PISystem".
Try instead of navigating to ..\AppData\Local navigate to ..\AppData\Roaming\PISystem...
I have deleted the AFDatasets.dll.config file.
But still I am not getting database in dropdown list under AF2.
Thank you very much.
I reviewed all the permissions and now I am able to get the database in PI.
On other note, the MDB to AF Sync Database was not created in Server but still my colleague was able to get the database in Processbook. She is using PI Processbook 2010.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
If you do not sync your MDB to AF then your module database will be set to read only. This means that you will not be able to edit any module in your module database.
This can impact some of our product that use the module database such as PI Batch and PI ACE.
If you are not using products that rely on the module database there should be no issue in not having a functional MDB to AF Sync.
Furthermore, you will be able to use PI AF regardless of whether or not it is in sync with your MDB.
This should not however impact your client connection such as PI ProcessBook and PI DataLink.
I hope this answers your question.
