How to specify current month (a start time of midnight on the current month) without specifying 'dec' or 'jan', just mo or M? so that it always uses the current month?

I want to set up a calculated attribute in an Asset Analysis template that give the Range of our real energy measurement (kwh) from midnight on the start of the current month to now (*). But I'd like to just specify current month without naming the month (i.e. dec or jan). Just like when we use 't' to represent today at midnight or 'y' for yesterday at midnight. I would like an expression that gives a start time of midnight of the first day of the current month without naming the month.
