I have an AF Attribute with formula column. The Data is archive with A+B from 01-Dec-16 to 15-Jan2017 and I changed the formula to 2*A+B on 16th Jan 2017. How to apply the formula change to the Archived data?
Can you please help.
If it really is a formula data reference, then it is just viewed by the client applications and not written to the data archived. It is only archived if you are using the analysis service and outputting to a PI Tag.
You can read how to create a versioned element here: PI Server

Using element versions allows you to apply specific element versions at specific points in time. Note, AF Analytics only is aware of the most current version, but many of the data references are version aware. I would recommend trying to create a new version of the AF element with the effective date dates you had in mind, and on the new version apply the change and view the result by doing a trend from Dec-16 to * and seeing if the change is picked up in your client tool.
OSIsoft does not recommend creating many element versions since it does not scale well. There might be some better alternatives and we can use this community to discuss some of the challenges and best practices around this. There are quite a few gurus in this community!
Thanks for the prompt response.
Yes this formula was a data reference. Earlier I could not differentiate the change in the trends as the value change is very small and worried That the archived values are not updating.
Now I confirm that the values are reflecting with new formula.

Just pointing out what Dan explained above.
A formula data reference doesn't store anything on PI Archives. So there isn't archived values to be updated.
The formulas are calculated on client side at the time of visualization.
