Does anyone have any procedure on how to set up Pi coresight to be viewed in our mobile phones? Any documents present? Is there an app or it is a webpage?
We have the PI Coresight web server and we have an app for iPad called "PI Coresight for iPad".
Since the app is quite old, I wouldn't use it. I would install the latest version of PI Coresight which is 2016 R2.
You can find the installation guide here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Downloads/File/4867e2ed-2cde-43ca-a3d4-d6464c42c499
Note that the latest version of PI Coresight is totally written using HTML5 and it works pretty well on smartphones. Old versions of the product might not work well on smartphones since PI Coresight was developed on top of Microsoft Silverlight.
Please let me know if you have more questions,
what should i do if i have Pi coresight 2016?
Just access with your smartphone. Have you tried that? Is it on a private network?
Starting from PI Coresight 2016, it shouldn't need to download app from appstore anymore. Here is the roadmap that explain the enhancement from PI Coresight 2016. https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Products/Product-Roadmap/PI-Coresight All you needed to do is to type in the URL in a web browser and it should be working.
Our office hasn't set up the mobile interface yet. In order to get it on
our mobile phones I'll need Kerberos set up and vpn connection correct?
Basic Authentication with SSL encryption should be used when work with mobile phone. To enable Basic authentication, select the site PI Coressight is installed to in IIS Manager. Double-Click Authentication, and enabled Basic Authentication. Then, Enable Windows Authentications and select Providers and delete NTLM.
Note: If SSL is not setup, basic authentication should not be used, for credential with be sent as plain text.
Please see page 58 of the PI Coresight 2016 Administration Guide for more information.
