Very long response time plus a "Shutdown request received" in the PI log. Help wanted!

Hi all


I'm trying to be a "detective" on a situation we get at a site. The first time our application starts up, getting data from PI takes a very long time. These are the lines from the PI log that I am curious about:

Now, everything else seems to go smoothly, with data amounts up to 270 Kb being retrieved quite quickly, but as the connection statistics show, it tool 1 minute and 2 seconds to retrieve just 71 kB!


The w3wp.exe is the Internet Information Server worker process in which our web service runs. It is that web service that interacts with PI through PI SDK.


Can anybody help me to narrow down the possible culprits of this situation?


What are some steps I should take to avoid this situation in the future?


Is this related to a connection time out? (From the documentation I've read, I should have seen a different text in the log file, but I'm still not sure about that)
