If PI PointType=Float32 then Value Type=?

Elementary qustion:  Given a PI Point with PointType=Float32, should the attribute in AF be defined as Single or Double?

I understand that it can be either.  I also understand about precision of number and significant digits.  My nature of question is more regarding efficiency of operations.

My initial inclination was to use matching precision.  Since 32-bit Float32 matches 32-bit Single that's what I've used.  But the OSI NuGreen example uses Double.  Plus .NET would claim Double is more efficient in CPU operations.

So my question isn't a question of which value type I can use.  It's more fishing for the best practice of which should I use.
