As far as i know Cisco is one of the major partners of osisoft, will there be a cisco communicator support for notifications.(If not has someone maybe already connected the notifications service to the cisco communicator. ?)
At this point in time we do not have plans for a Cisco Communicator delivery channel, existing delivery channels supplied with PI Notifications are email, Web Service and Microsoft Office Communicator.
PI Notifications is extensible allowing customers to create and integrate their own delivery channels. There is also a vCampus sample delivery channel.
That said we are curious about the usage of Instant Messaging technologies and receiving notfications by vCampus folks
Do you use instant messaging throughout the organization, do customers prefer to get notifications via email or instant messenger clients?
We haven't heard a request for a facebook or twitter delivery channel.... yet!
Wolfgang - I see that CISCO has CEBT which essentially means calling those web services(www.cisco.com/.../cisco_cebt_whitepaper_services.pdf)
Is there any interest in that?
Nice whitepaper .. i have a folder on my filesystem which is called "Plant Information Management Vision 2030" .. I saved it into..
(I especally like Page 6)
When I hear Unified Communcation I always see that instead of having my 50+ Mails per Day in my Mail Inbox ... it stalks everywhere ... because my UC knows when i'm on the toilett ;-) and it forwards me the message to the "silent place".
Regarding this topic of thread ... My current goal is to remove all instant communication out of the system => The users have one tool "Email" which they can receive everywhere ... which should be enough".
Retrieving data ...
