As far as I know there is no reason why you cannot do this. You just need to be careful about error handling and timeouts. Just use good practices for code that could fail or hang. I think ACE is like the force, it has a light side and dark side...
Someone mentioned here that ACE is the most abused OSIsoft product :)
May the Force be with you.
I couldn't think of any good reasons. But I thought I would check.
I am trying to use AF SDK in ACE. AF SDK is v 2.0 and PI SDK is 1.4. its not working. Am i missing something here. could you pl help.
You using a very old version of the AF SDK. The current production version is 18.104.22.16831; I've used this successfully from ACE running PI SDK 1.4.x
I must admit that I don't know of any known incompatibilities; however I doubt that many people have tested a 5+ year old AF SDK with a new PI SDK.
One issue I did hit was when I developed on a computer with PI SDK 1.4.x and then attempted to run it on a computer running PI SDK 1.3.x. Silly mistake I know but really simple to fix.
