Hi,

I'm very new to Pi Datalink so please forgive my ignorance.

Is there a simple way to represent the distribution of a PI data set, like a histogram or frequency distribution table?

I have a large set of data coming from a fleet of 36 pulverisers for which I would like to develop some control thresholds and I don't want the control system to be stepping in unless completely necessary. If I could condense the data into a histogram or a table of data that illustrates the data distribution I think I could find the most appropriate thresholds relatively easily.

Regards

Cameron

Hi Cameron,

Thanks for posting on PI Square!

There are ways to do this. I would suggest using the Calculated Data function. I believe this configuration template will suit your needs:

Here I'm calculating the amount of events (event-weighted and calculation mode "count") where the tag (CDT158) is less than 50 (filter expression) from yesterday at midnight to today at midnight.

You can iterate this with your bin conditions and get all the events that fit your conditions. Here is an example I created:

With it, I can create a histogram of the data using Excel Charts:

Please let me know if this is suitable for you.
