It's one day past the release date of PI Vision 2017 - and no release yet.
What's going on?
First of all thank you very much for sharing your question in PI Square!
You are right. According to our Roadmap PI Vision 2017 should have been released yesterday. However, a delay has been confirmed by our Web Clients team. The Product Roadmap will be soon updated accordingly when they have a new estimated date.
Sorry for the inconveniences.
Thanks for the update!
It's too bad that the release dates are not properly informed about, incl. any potential delays. I had one client visit abroad earlier this month, where we planned my visit according to the original release date - which was Q1 2017. Just days before the trip we discovered the release had been pushed to the 15th of May, but the trip went as planned - except for the Vision upgrade. Then we made new plans to upgrade the day after this release - remotely for my sake, but one IT consultant travelled onsite today. And now we're stuck again. That sucks
The Roadmap merely offers estimates, so I'd always take them with a grain of salt. PI Vision 2017 will be released soon.
Maybe it should become more clear that this is an estimate then :S
"2017-05-15" sounds pretty detailed to me.
"May 2017" would have been better, but would commonly be interpreted as the 31st of May
"Q1" usually means 30th of April.
To be honest, this is what i typically expect with the roadmap. First one quarter back, then a few weeks. Not a big deal, just take some consideration in your plan. If you need assurances, you need to agree on Beta testing with OSI.
And it's a major task. We all want more functionality in the next release and complain if progress is slow, yet also complain if releases are too far apart.
