Hello what PI Tag Attributes can adjust to get more granularity on a PI Trend if possible a real world expample would help.
If by increasing granularity, you mean increasing the number of events, then mainly there are two attributes you would want to look at: exception and compression. For a basic summary of both, I recommend watching this short, 4-minute video on our YouTube Learning Channel. Basically, you maximize the granularity by completely disabling the exception and compression for a point, but this comes at a cost of potential increased network traffic, increased processor time on the server, increased disk space used, and poorer future read performance.
Keep in mind that exception is performed by the interface (there can sometimes be subtle differences in how exception is handled between different interfaces), and compression is performed either by PI Buffer Subsystem or on the server itself. They both perform similar functions, but use different algorithms and for different purposes. Here's a small table comparing the two:
I would also recommend having a look at KB3226OSI8 - What are recommended Exception and Compression settings.
